Your journey begins in San Francisco, home to an avant-garde restaurant scene, where chefs relish in and take full advantage of the concentration of passionate expert producers found in the region. Head north over the iconic Golden Gate bridge straight to the source, where you will discover freshly-plucked-from-the-sea oysters and heavenly triple cream cheese in Marin County, artsy towns and Pinot producers in Sonoma, and world-class wine and some of the country’s finest Michelin Star meals in Napa.

With such an inspirational blend of farmers, chefs, fisherman, cheese makers, and foragers working alongside award-winning vintners, brewers, and distillers, there is nowhere else in the United States where you can feel the locavore lifestyle and culinary prowess more than in Northern California.

Day 5 — Sonoma to Napa

Although quite a bit of Northern California is known as Wine Country, there’s no shortage of world-class breweries operating in the area. Visit a variety of big-name and closed-to-the-public craft breweries to sample a variety of styles of beer, and learn about the production process that goes into making some of these critically acclaimed brews. We’ll even help you safely ship that case of Pliny back home.
San Francisco Food & Drinks

Stroll through San Francisco on a private tour showcasing the city’s rapidly changing food scene in some of its most iconic areas including the Mission District and the Ferry Building. Stop along the way to sample some of each neighborhood’s culinary highlights and gain some insight into the stories and cultural backgrounds of the butchers, baristas, brewers, cheesemongers, and chefs behind the food and drinks.
Marin County Cheese & Oysters

Located just north of San Francisco, Marin County is an area known for sustainable agriculture and artisanal food production. Here you will visit some of the county’s top cheese producers to get a behind the scenes look at the facilities, speak with the cheese makers themselves, and sample some their award-winning dairy delicacies. Then grab a seat at a picnic table overlooking the picturesque Tomales Bay with some locally sourced sparkling wine and an endless supply of freshly shucked oysters.
